Marriage isn't easy like I thought it would be so many years ago. Having children and the many obstacles that life throws you all add in different aspects to married life that I never knew existed. Also, as people grow older their likes, dislikes, dreams, wants, needs, etc. can change. How do you stay together when you might be growing apart? As I think about all this, I think about how to keep my marriage growing. Here is what my search has found:
Today is our six year anniversary. It is hard to believe that we have been married for six years and even harder to believe that we have been together for over eleven!

I have been loving eating "raw food" lately. I still eat the same food I have in the past except for a meal or two a day, I eat very healthy. This usually means using my juicer in the mornings, soup or salad or leftovers for lunch, and a "raw" meal for dinner or just a regular healthy dinner (chicken and veggies for example).
I have made parsnip rice "stir-fry", "sushi", and my all time favorite is zucchini noodles! Last week, I bought a veggetti. It is the EASIEST thing in the world to swirl up a zucchini and throw in some pesto sauce. One day I made shrimp scampi. I gave my husband regular noodled and, for myself, I had the shrimp and sauce I had just made over zucchini noodles. Oh. My. Gosh. It was so delicious!
If you follow me on Instagram (jwarrenauthor), then you might have seen my post this week about mom guilt. That was due to a parent teacher conference that I had via phone with my son’s preschool teacher. The conversation turned into a “Is he ready for Kindergarten?” bit with the teacher saying all sorts of comments such as:
I recently was on BlogHer and saw a challenge to post on my blog every day during the month of April. I took that challenge; however, I already missed one post. Today I will explain why I missed that post and will post twice on my blog to make up for it…
Quick! My second book, Stories After Dark, is available tonight for free! This is a short stories book that I am just in love with. So if you love short stories and flash fiction about murder, the supernatural, and creepy neighbors THEN quickly go get the ebook version! NOW!
STORIES AFTER DARK by Jessica Warren I have an unhealthy obsession with s'mores. To be honest, I have had unhealthy obsessions with food for the majority of my life. In high school, I ate one or maybe two meals a day (usually one). In college, I took that unhealthy eating to a level way beyond that. I gained the "freshman 20" and then some, along with binge eating. The unhealthy eating continued and grew for many years until one day I decided to be done with it. It isn't as easy as that, but just like with any obsession or addiction, you ultimately have to decide when enough is enough. For those of you that know me, you know that I am a paranoid person. My imagination is my friend and it can also be my enemy. I can create the most horrible outcome out of any situation. I am good at coming up with the possible horror of every day life and the things you only see in your nightmares. My fear comes in at writing those things down. Sometimes I like what I write. Sometimes I love it, but then worry about what others will think. Sometimes I abhore what I write. Perhaps this is normal. I really don't know. The only thing I know is that publishing what I write scares me daily.
My son will be turning five this year so I have been talking a lot about him to other teachers. This Spring I have to make the big decision of if he should go to Kindergarten or not. He is so young and his motor skills aren't up to par yet, but he is so very smart with an unbelievable vocabulary. All the talk about him lately made me think of how dramatically my life has changed when I became a mother. Here are some of the ways (good and bad):
I am not a huge Valentine's gal; I would actually prefer to celebrate Friday the 13th more than Valentine's. I do give gifts and am thankful for any gifts I get. I mean.. who wouldn't be thankful for chocolate and flowers?!
