Today is it. The end of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). I feel as if I am this small rhino typing as slow as I imagine he would. There are days where the words flowed and the characters did as they pleased AND there have been more days where I force the words OR days where no writing took place due to life getting in the way.
Writing is very dear to me. I am a "closed off" person until I put my trust in someone. Unfortunately, sometimes I put that trust in the wrong person. C'est la vie. The same concern comes to me when I write. I worry about what I post on Instagram, Twitter, and the books I have published...and I worry about what I blog about. The worrying varies from being scared of what people might think of my writing; will I succeed in my goal to write full time; to being scared of the inevitable bad review, etc, etc. That concern is there. Hell, those concerns are always there, but writing isn't about if everyone will like me or love my writing. It isn't about a popularity contest (Lord knows, I would never "win" if that were the case.) but it is about being scared. Many writers are working on their 50,000 word novel right now for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). If you are one of those writers, then (like me) you have stumbled on one of following ways to NOT finish your novel:
I LOVE November:
I truly love that I have such a goal as National Novel Writing Month. Last year it helped me start the first book in The Making Series. I am not completely finished with that one. A lot more edits need to be made, but for this month, I am focusing on the sequel. I know, I know. I do things a tad backwards. That is ok. Everyone works in different ways. The only downside of NaNoWriMo is that my non-writing friends might not understand. It isn't for everyone, but it is a great motivational tool for me. I need a good kick in the rear end sometimes and this is it. I have a strict goal this month and because I didn't make it last year, I am more than determined to make that 50k word count this month. For all of you doing NaNoWriMo.....have great, productive writing sessions. See you in a month!
