My first published book is a "teacher book" which contains quotes from teachers and students about what they feel makes a good teacher. My second book contains short stories which range from horror, supernatural to young adult. I am currently working on a horror novel (where my imagination usually leads). In between those, I also write children's books; however, I haven't had the guts to publish them yet.
This weekend I was watching Room on the Broom with my son. It is a super cute book and the animated version is really great. It truly got my son's attention. In fact, it got my attention too. It gave me the motivation I needed to pull out one of my own children's stories. I have at least five that I have written, but I chose one of my favorites. The plan is to finish editing and then send it out once again to agents and/or publishers. However, while I am waiting for responses, I will also be drawing and formatting. If I cannot traditionally publish this certain children's book then I will self publish it myself. Why not?
