For over five years, I have been a walking commercial for DHC Skincare. In 2009 I tried a sample of one of their products...and was hooked. Since then, I have raved about all their products to everyone.
Why am I telling you this? Because over a year ago, I took the chance and emailed them about their "Customer Spotlight" feature (where they choose a customer to feature on their website, catalog, etc.). This was out of my comfort zone, but I figured that they would never contact me anyways so why the hell not?! What a shock it was when I received a call from them this past Fall.

They asked if I would like to come out to California and do a photo shoot?! The answer was a big YES!!! I was very nervous because this, again, was way out of my comfort zone, but it turned out to be the best time I have had in a long time. I packed up some DHC samples that I had kept from previous orders (you get free samples ALL the time!), made sure my Facetime worked so I could chat with my son while I was away for the weekend (only the second time I have ever been away from him in four years!), and told my best friend that she would be coming with me. She, of course, said that she wouldn't miss it!
The weekend was amazing. The photo shoot went well. Everyone I met at the photo shoot was just so nice, helpful and truly made me feel comfortable. I even had time to do some sightseeing the next day! The hair and make up artist was truly an artist. He made me feel beautiful and even though he had to do touch ups constantly, he did it in a way that made me laugh. I even warned him that he would need to come with me to Virginia so that I could always look as good as he made me look. He laughed because he thought I was joking. I wasn't, but unfortunately I don't know where he is so I cannot harass him to live with myself and my family. :)
And have I mentioned the photographer?! Check out his pictures below. He did an amazing job and truly made me feel comfortable in such a new atmosphere. The hardest part was the video portion. I love the products I use and can talk about them with anyone and everyone, but once the recording light on, the amnesia set in. They were all so patient with me and the outcome turned out quite well I think.

I am definitely not a model, but it was fun to be one for a day. Oh don't get me wrong, if they ever need me again...I will rush there as soon as humanly possible because it was that great of an experience. Until then, I am still a special education teacher, a wife, a writer, and the proud mother of an amazing and unbelievably fun four-year-old son.

Stay tuned for information regarding my writing... I am nearing the end of my third book. Then the decisions have to be made:
Until next week loves.... hope you enjoyed the pictures. <3
- Do I self publish?
- Do I send the manuscript out?
- Should I begin the next in the series right away or work on one of my other projects?
Until next week loves.... hope you enjoyed the pictures. <3
