There is something so special about Autumn. I grew up in the country and when the temperatures begin to cool, old memories begin to rise. From raking leaves with my father to roasting marshmallows over the fire to make s'mores....I am in love with living in a state with the changing seasons.
My small family has a tradition. I am not sure why or how it got started, but every October we pick our pumpkins for the front porch. Then it ends up representing our cute little family. The older my son gets, the more it means to him and to us. He loves that there is a daddy pumpkin, momma pumpkin and the one for him.
It is a simple gesture; a simple decoration; however, it ends up meaning a lot more.
We picked an extra pumpkin this year....so I have been busy making pumpkin bread and Thai pumpkin soup all from scratch!

The cooler weather and more activity outside also just puts me in a great mood. I have ridden bikes with my son, made some delicious food, AND have had time to do some writing and editing. I am still on track to finish my current book this month. Then the plan is to start the sequel while getting the first book ready to send out to publishers!
Only time will tell.
